Reunion island

C’est bien une photo prise en parapente!
Ile de la Réunion.
Décollage sous les nuages un peu à gauche de la photo au Colimaçon.
Plaf à 1200m et l’air porte bien avec le vent favorable.
Et non je n’ai pas fini à la mer 😉 posé sur la plage!

Plaf at 1200m and the air was perfect with the favorable winds.
And no I have not finished at the sea 😉 Landed on the beach!

Black sea

The crossing of the Balkans is over on the beach of the Black Sea for our greatest pleasure!

La traversée des Balkans c’est terminé au bord de la mer Noire pour notre plus grand plaisir !

One month ago Bulgarian paragliders offered to come across the Balkans on a bivouac flight. I accepted on the sole condition of taking a Bulgarian novice of the bivouac flight!
We finally left with Tedi in the adventure! A women Bulgarian paragliding champion without any experience in the field of bivouac. Departure to the border of Serbia to reach the Black Sea. It took us a less than 2 weeks.
A new experience with many unexpected difficulties for all 2.
I will tell you some points in the next news.

Plaine

Les forêts coupent tellement les thermiques que nous devions aller régulièrement en plaine qui était beaucoup plus facile à voler ! Il faut juste retrouver un décollage pas trop loin en cas de poser…

The forests cut so much the thermal that we had to go regularly in plain which was much easier to fly! You just have to find a takeoff not too far in case of landing…

Marche

Une des plus grandes difficultés pour Tedi était de porter le sac, 15kg pour 10 jours d’autonomie. Mais le plaisir et le sourire est toujours là 😉
Nous avons limité au maximum ces moments difficiles !

One of the biggest difficulties for Tedi was to carry the bag, 15kg for 10 days of autonomy. But the pleasure and the smile is always there 😉
We have limited to the maximum these difficult moments!

Les bivouacs étaient agréables sauf quand les ours nous faisaient peur !

Forest

La plus grande difficulté pour traverser les Balkans en parapente reste les forêts à perte de vue ! Ce n’est pas toujours possible de trouver un atterrissage ou même un décollage de partout. Il vaut mieux essayer de rester haut quand c’est possible.
Les forêts empêchent le soleil de chauffer le sol et de créer des thermiques. La plaine sans arbre est souvent plus efficace pour voler avec des plafonds plus hauts.
